Staying safe: the basics

Safety is the number one rule in a warehouse. A safe worker is a worker employers keep.

Lift with your legs, not your back. Bend your knees, keep the load close, and do not twist while lifting.

Watch for forklifts. Make eye contact with the driver before you cross, and never walk behind one that is backing up.

Wear your PPE — the safety gear like a vest, gloves, or steel-toe boots. It is there to protect you.

If something feels unsafe, you can stop and tell a supervisor. Speaking up is part of doing the job right.
